What a great weekend it's been to get outside and get some work done! Yesterday we spent the majority of the day working in the yard pruning trees and bushes, bagging the clippings and cleaning up.
The bushes didn't look all that pretty to me, but my husband reminded me how necessary it was in order for them to look better and be healthier. Pruning! I think I've been experiencing some of my own spiritual pruning lately. Another post for another day! Anyway, we ended up with 8 huge bags of clippings by the street plus several piles of limbs!
We're no where near finished, but it felt so good to get started. This is just the beginning a long "to do" list. Spring forward with spring cleaning! It's amazing how many things you find you need to do when you're outside and inside for that matter.

This afternoon I planted a few flowers in my front porch planters to begin to spruce things up a bit. There's nothing like playing in the dirt to release stress and get you in the mood for Spring.

Today was just a beautiful day to get out and take a walk...I'm loving the extra daylight and Maggie loves it too. Sunshine is good for the soul!

Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Embrace the day,
Ginger

Amen! What a beautiful reminder to rejoice everyday in the goodness of God!
Glad you guys could get out and work in your yard. We took the opportunity to go tromping through the woods. It was fun! The snow was nice last weekend, but this is nice too!
Sunshine IS good for the soul and we have had a couple of gorgeous days! I'm afraid I haven't been as ambitious as you, though. I need to get going on some Spring projects, too. Hard to believe that this time last week we were in a snowstorm!
Hope you have a blessed week!
It was beautiful yesterday and today...I did not get to go out though except for church today and tonight since mother is now back with us...but that is okay! There will be plenty of warm weather days that she and I both will be able to enjoy together as she gets stronger!

That's how I felt a few weeks ago when my husband pruned all the trees and crape myrtle bushes. They are just stubs right now. :) He assures me they'll bloom like normal.
I love this weather. I'm glad for daylight saving time and the fact that it's light longer.
Hope you have a great week, Ginger.
Hey girlie!
When y'all get done, come on over to The Doublewide". We've got lots of baby bushes in the front that need work!
Ahh-ha! I'm joking.
Have a great week and thanks for your sweet comments on my blog all the time.
Sounds like you had the kind of day that I love! I'm hoping to get outside and take care of our shrubs and flower beds, too.
Glad you had such a good day. Have a great week!
Blessings....
Isn't this spring-like weather wonderful?
I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. :o)
I love your brick front porch! We don't get much of that look down here. Too much stucco. We have to do our spring clean up as well--lots of weedkilling and mulching.
And yes, I know about pruning!
That's either George Winston or David Lanz playing that beautiful music in the background! I love me some good piano music, Jim Brickman being my favorite.
I don't even like to think about what needs to be done outdoors. I can barely keep the inside clean; still and yet, the pruning is necessary...on so many fronts.
I feel as if I, too, am in such a season. A good time for the tender tending from a gentle Savior.

What a pretty porch! I too have really enjoyed the outdoors. :o)
