Last night as I was reading from Christy's blog, Between Here and Home, she asked the question, "What are you reading"? I love her blog, because it always makes me feel at home.
Unfortunately, I'm one of those readers that will try to read more than one book at a time, and it takes me a month of Sundays to get any of them finished. Not to mention, that during the school year, I don't get to read as much as I'd like, but I'm finishing up a book that I started a while back titled "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire", by Jim Cymbala, the pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle for 35 years. Thought provoking and stirring to say the least.
This book is all about what happens when believers come together as one in prayer, and take the gospel seriously. In chapter 9, according to Jim Cymbala if you have only the Word, you dry up. If you have only the Spirit, you blow up. But if you have both, you grow up.
That's a mouthful, but so true! To have this balance, we must continue to seek God's guidance and direction.
Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Wow! That is a good word. We need both to really live out this Christian walk.
I'm the same way with books. I am always reading too many at a time. Probably not a good thing! But I love books!
I've gotten a little lazy with my reading lately. I haven't been reading any books. Then, guess what happened today? I won two, yes TWO contests!!! The prize in both? You guessed it...books! I'm so excited. This is just what I needed to get me back into reading mode.
Blessings...
Great post! I have been trying to finish one book since Christmas. I don't beat myself up too much though as I am still able to have my quiet time in the Word each morning before starting out my day.
I need to write this title down so I can read before the year is out. Thanks for sharing it!
Hi Ginger,
I loved that book too. I absolutely LOVE to read. I go through spurts when I give up blogspot or other activities to ingest a book (ha).
I pray you have a wonderful day!
Thank you for the sweet comments about my daughter Ginger. Little girls are so much fun!
Love!

One of my favorite books! It really lit a spark in me at the time of my reading it. Might have to dig this one out again.
