This month that character trait is "courage". So often though, teaching courage is a lot easier than having courage! There are many days in my personal life that I feel a lot like "The Cowardly Lion".

However, as I was reading our school's weekly newsletter, I noticed that there was a great quote that I wanted to share. I know...lately I've gone quote crazy. I love them.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by
every experience in which you really stop to
look fear in the face.
You must do the thing
which you think you cannot do.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
I love this quote. For the last couple of weeks, I've felt as though I didn't want to face anything. Fear can look like many things; an uncomfortable situation, an unpleasant encounter, stepping out of your box, financial burdens, the economy, illness, taking a stand, raising children. You name it, it can be many things to many people. However, know this: Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
Embrace your fears with courage through Him.

I have suffered throughout my years from a lack of courage. As I have grown in my faith, I've grown in my confidence because I am learning to correctly place it in Jesus Christ alone. Being rooted in the cross keeps perspective clear and purpose all the more! Thank you for bringing courage to the young lives that sit under your influence.
2nd grade is a good year. I've taught 6th and 3rd in the past, and while my classroom days are behind me, I consider all of life to be a classroom of sorts.
When I stop learning, I might as well go home! May we all have the courage to move out in our faith with Jesus at the helm, knowing that his hold is sure and steady and strong.

Thank you Ginger for this word of encouragement. Somedays I think I have enough courage to get through and other days--well, a struggle occurs. THen I remember I can do all things through Christ!
I bet you are a great teacher!!
I love this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. Thanks for sharing this with us today.
I agree with Terri Tiffany....I bet you're a great teacher.
I love that verse. I have had to go back to it over and over again the last few months. Thank you for the reminder!
And I agree with the other ladies. I bet you're a great teacher!
Great quote Ginger! Thanks for the reminder that we have all the strength available to us for every situation of life...
Bless you!

Ginger,
Courage is something that I pray for. I want to be a courageous peron. I so feel in my life that God has brought situations in my life where He can demonstrate courage through me. It certainly is not easy and I quoted this very verse to hubs last night. This week has been a tough one for us and courageous would not describe how I have been feeling this week.
Thank you for this post.
Have a Blessed day,
Dawn
Oh my, you are singing my song! That quote is exactly what I need to see on a regular basis. I plan to copy it and keep it near by. :o)
