Hats off to Relaxation!

Doesn't it feel really good when things are not going at the speed of light? That's how I'm feeling this very minute! Peaceful, calm, not rushed. There's a lot to be said for slow!

For the last couple of weeks I've been out of the blogging loop because I've felt as if I was going at the speed of light. Several nights last week I had dates at my kitchen table with assessments. Scoring....writing especially takes me a long time!

Today was our end of year celebration for my class! We had the best time. The children made summer visors and kaleidoscopes, played bingo and had fun refreshments. As an end of year gift, the children gave me a framed picture that I had taken of them at our personal best challenge run this year. The frame was decorated with little flowers and critters made from their tiny finger prints! On the back my room moms created a legend so I will always be able to place the pictures with the names. Just precious. If that wasn't enough, they gave me a very generous gift card. I have been more than blessed this year with this group of students and parents. You ROCK!!

We have three more days of school, followed by workdays. After that I must say that I'm looking forward to some much needed rest and relaxation.

I want to share with you a portion of a piece, His Rest, written by Diane Head, which to me really drove home the point of rest.

Rest for the soul is the most desirable rest. It affects not only our spirtual
health, but our emotional and physical health as well. The only way to receive this rest is to sit at Christ's feet and hear his word, to take time to learn more about who he is and what he is like.

Matthew 28: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

What a comfort to know that when we are tired and need rest whether it be physically, spiritually or emotionally, we have a heavenly father that we can turn it all over to.

I've missed you!
I knew the year was winding down and knew you were probably a bit overwhelmed.
Yay...now you can rest.

Looks like you have a large class.
I love the picture and frame. What a great idea with the little finger prints. You'll treasure that gift forever.

I pray you can relax now and enjoy your time with the Lord and with family. I'm thankful the parents appreciate you. You sound like an amazing teacher.

God bless!
Love,
Valerie
