Date Nights!

With the economy being the way it has for quite some time, we've cut back in many ways. Date nights....back burner! Not a good idea. That's one area that should not be trimmed back. Focusing on making your marriage a priority is so important. Altough I have to say, any night Tony cooks for me, and he's a great cook, it's a date!

Friday night, we took advantage of our date night gift card from church and went to Bone Fish Grill for a late dinner at 9:00! It was so nice and relaxing. Tony and I both have had busy weeks, especially Tony. He's been putting in 12-13 hour days over the last few weeks, but he waited for me to get home from a memorial service and then we went out. What a trooper.

One date night is great, but two in a row is unheard of for us! I felt like a teenager last night getting ready to go on a dinner cruise aboard The Catawba Queen. It took about an hour to get there, but we had a great time. My good friend Jena, and her huband Pastor David Shipman, invited us to join them with some of their friends for a night of fellowship. We had an amazing time. We enjoyed cruising along Lake Norman...an amazing view at sunset!

This morning's message at church preached from "Song of Songs", made me realize how important these date nights really are. They are vital in keeping the marriage fresh and strong. Pastor Furtick also pointed out a very important verse from Ephesians 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

I love this verse. This verse is the emphasis of the book "Love and Respect". I highly recommend this book to anyone whether your marriage is strong or needs strengthening.
