It's Been a While!

Long time no blogging for sure! It's amazing how easily one can get out of a habit when life gets incredibly busy.

I've missed posting and especially reading your blogs. A lot has been going on around here in the last month or so. For the last several weekends prior to Easter, we traveled back home for birthday celebrations and yet another funeral. My sweet Uncle Bill, who was daddy's brother, passed away this past month. He was 83. I'll always remember him for his great sense of humor and incredible talent as a carpenter and builder. He and daddy were so much alike with their boyish grins even in their 80's...they were so cute to me.

In addition to being gone on the weekends, life's been busy with continued graduation and college preparations...I really had no idea. Over spring break I cleaned every nook and cranny of this house for the upcoming graduation celebration in May. That was a task, but it felt so good to get it done. Next on the list is to cover my dining room chairs and paint my front porch rockers.

Mama came over Easter weekend and before I took her back home on Easter Monday, she was outside washing my windows without me knowing it. Keep in mind she is 80 years old. Heavens...I think she could run a marathon if she put her mind to it. She was more exhausted from our shopping trip at Belks that doing that. Go figure. When Duke and Butler were playing, I finally had to turn in. Not mama, she stayed up til the end. She still plays basketball with my 7 year old nephew. According to Evan, Grandma is "pretty good".

Take care friends and embrace this beautiful week.

Your mom is amazing!

I've been really bad about keeping up with the blogs I love to read here lately. Every now and then I just curl up on the sofa and go down the row of my favorites.

It's good to always see that even though everyone is busy, they're all doing well.

Sorry about your uncle.

Love,
Valerie

Preparing for graduation is a very busy time...and a bittersweet time.

I'm so glad your mother got to spend time with you. I know what you mean about her doing housework. My mother can work circles around me. She's 75 yrs.!

It's great to read an update from you...I've missed you. I'll be watching for more! ;-)

You are right my friend. Those moments pass quickly. It's up to us to enjoy them. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Katie looked great in her dress. I'm sure she had a wonderful time.

Take care my friend!
