The Moments

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

Just a week ago, Tony lost one of his best friends to Colon Cancer after a 2 1/2 year fight. Wallace was godly man, actively involved in his church and community. He loved his family and was a devoted husband and father. Before our kids were born, we used to go to breakfast every Saturday morning at Big Ed's in Raleigh. They practically had to run us out every weekend. Movies, out to dinner, and weekend getaways to the beach and Williamsburg will always be precious memories. A dear person, and friend.

Our last beach trip together~

A day of fishing on the family farm~

Last week was yet another milestone at our house. Katie had her Senior Prom. As with every prom we've had, there was drama up til the end...of course. That's what I guess makes those moments that I'm sure I will look back on one day and just laugh out loud. However, it was all I could do to fight back the tears. My baby is all grown up. It all worked out in the end and she had a really nice time.

And then there are those moments that just flat out take your breath for physical reasons! Yep, that would be the 1st Annual Pet Parade at PSE for our Spring Carnival. I volunteered to enter Maggie, our beagle. Not only was it fun, it was exhausting. It literally took my breath away! I came home and took a long nap. We had a great time...one I won't soon forget and the kids absolutely loved it. The looks on their faces were priceless.

In the span of such a short time, life can throw so many situations our way causing us to feel many emotions that can take our breath away.

Embrace every moment and situation. We're not guaranteed another. Embrace this life that God has so freely given you.

Amen! Life comes at you so fast. May we embrace every minute of it. I am sorry to hear about your friend. May God bring peace to his family and friends.

But oh, Katie! That girl looks all grown up. But she's beautiful my friend! You should be very proud of the young lady she is becoming.

Take care my friend! Hope you have a great week!

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's friend. It is hard to get through things sometimes when we only understand what we see and we don't have all knowledge and all understanding. Thank God that He does!!

Your daughter is absolutely beautiful!!!
